In 2012 I once again thought it was time to drop a couple of dress sizes I had always been overweight but years of yo-yo dieting and half-hearted gym attempts had left me larger than ever before but had I convinced myself that fat and funny was a good. Having tried many different diets and exercise classes I thought maybe a personal trainer would be the way forward. Friends and family rolled their eyes thinking here we go again. I set about finding a Personal Trainer one that would motivate, support and help me set achievable goals.
Having read many reviews and websites I booked a consultation with Ashley at ADM Personal Training and before long I was training weekly, keeping a food diary and thinking it may be possible to run for 8 minutes. Within a year I had lost 8 1/2 stone and was running my first half marathon. I have kept the weight off for 5+ years and still run half marathons. In 2015 I ran the London Marathon and have participated in both Tough Mudder and Spartan races … not bad for the fat girl who only wanted to drop two dress sizes. After training with two other personal trainers and suffering a serious injury because of their training methods, I wanted to ensure that I picked a trainer carefully.
I contacted Ashley, as he was a Level 4 Master Personal Trainer, which I now appreciate requires him to have an extensive understanding of physiology and anatomy and the ability to be able to apply this to each client’s needs, which isn’t required by most trainers.
Ashley is also a specialist in lower back pain, which is an area in which I have had problems in the past. Thanks to the personal aspect of my training devised by Ashley, this problem has been greatly alleviated. He has always taken my previous injuries into consideration and devised training sessions that were varied and fun.
He is an excellent motivator who continually sets ever more challenging targets. Ashley has given me motivation and encouragement to ‘push the boundaries’. I can honestly say I have never been as toned and trim as I am now.

I have been training on and off with Ashley since October 2017. My main goal was weight loss but also to get fitter and healthier in the process.
