In 2012 I once again thought it was time to drop a couple of dress sizes I had always been overweight but years of yo-yo dieting and half-hearted gym attempts had left me larger than ever before but had I convinced myself that fat and funny was a good. Having tried many different diets and exercise classes I thought maybe a personal trainer would be the way forward. Friends and family rolled their eyes thinking here we go again. Having read many reviews and websites I booked a consultation with Ashley at ADM Personal Training and before long I was training weekly, keeping a food diary and thinking it may be possible to run for 8 minutes. Within a year I had lost 8 1/2 stone and was running my first half marathon. I have kept the weight off for 5+ years and still run half marathons. In 2015 I ran the London Marathon and have participated in both Tough Mudder and Spartan races … not bad for the fat girl who only wanted to drop two dress sizes.
